5 Spider Man Movies To Be Released On Disney Plus

Did you know, 5 Spider-Man movies will soon be released on the Disney Plus platform. While the licenses for the characters in the Spider-Man franchise are owned by Sony Pictures and made working with the MCU complicated, they end up being friends.

As we all know, everything about Spider-Man on the big screen has always been complicated because of Sony’s ownership of the film rights. There’s been a lot of trouble, like studio glitches, director departures, botched reboots, and historic deals that nearly fell apart, but good things just happened when the Spider-Man: No Way Home crossover finished.

5 Spider-Man Coming to Disney Plus

As we all know, Tom Holland’s Spider-Man is now firmly entwined in the MCU as the Sony and Disney deal continues, but it seems like a good thing to continue after Sony’s Spider-Man movie was revealed to be coming to Disney Plus. After all, the Spider-Man films and The Incredible Hulk are the only MCU entries to be absent from the streaming service due to rights issues.

And the release of a movie we know has nothing to do with the MCU is a good clue. Sony currently has a number of deals in place to bring the wall-crawler to various streaming services.

Disney Plus began adding Spider-Man films in the UK on June 17. All the films we are referring to below are Spider-Man, Spider-Man 2, The Amazing Spider-Man, The Amazing Spider-Man 2, and also Spider-Man: Homecoming.

Unfortunately, the third Spider-Man by Sam Raimi was removed from the list. But don’t worry, Spider-Man 3, Far From Home, No Way Home, Venom, Let There Be Carnage, and Morbius, will mostly follow in the months and years after the current streaming deal expires. For other countries, the release date is not known, but most likely will follow in the not too distant future.

We can take this as a good thing for Spider-Man’s destiny in the MCU, with Disney and Sony starting to deepen their bond, even more, perhaps Spider-Man will soon be more tightly integrated into the MCU.

And in case you missed it, Marvel Studios is currently developing Spider-Man: Freshman Year, an animated series that will explore the early days of hero Tom Holland, bringing the web-slinger to Disney+ original content for the first time. Hopefully this is really a good thing for everyone, including us as Marvel fans.
