Biggest Change About Namor

This sequel to the first film to introduce Black Panther as part of the MCU has a lot of mixes, especially after losing Chadwick Boseman. Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is only a few months away from closing Phase 4 of the MCU dramatically.

Part of that drama will include the introduction of Namor the Sub-Mariner, bringing Marvel Studios its own underwater hero akin to Jason Momoa’s Aquaman from the DC universe. To avoid that, Marvel Studios will do something to make a difference.

Big Changes Compared to Comics about Namor in the MCU

To Namor, he doesn’t really live to be a hero, but rather falls into the anti-hero category than a full-fledged superhero, Namor is known to be quite an egomaniac who will stop at nothing to protect his people – and he’s also one of Marvel’s heroes. the earliest mutants from comics.

Hasbro Pulse revealed the roster for the Namor the Sub-Mariner action figure from Marvel Studios’ Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.

This figure comes with a description that reveals a major change to Namor’s background from the comics for his MCU debut. On the big screen, he will be the ruler of a country called Talocan, an underwater civilization, not the usual Atlantean empire.

While it’s not based on anything special from Marvel Comics, its name is similar to a place from the Aztec legend called Tlālōcān, known as a cultural haven for those who died from drowning or being struck by lightning.

Having Black Panther 2 introduce this version of Namor as coming from the Aztec civilization would help make a difference from its roots in Atlantis while also bringing more culture to the MCU.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever will premiere in theaters on November 11. Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom will premiere on the big screen on March 17, 2023.
