With the hype that surrounded the release of the original 1993 film, as well as the tidal wave of acclaim that followed afterward, there’s much to remember about Jurassic Park.

To this day, the film is still being discussed, praised, and of course mined for ideas that can be used in future franchise entries. With the revival of the famed concept for 2015’s Jurassic World, Universal has maintained an enjoyable connection to the original film, liberally adding doses of familiarity to each successive installment.

In fact, even 1997’s The Lost World: Jurassic Park has managed to have a small amount of influence on the upcoming Jurassic World: Dominion.

The sequel introduced the concept of the dinosaurs (or at least two of them) being brought to civilization.

Though the T-Rex’s all too brief romp through San Diego is likely going to be made to look incredibly meager by comparison, Jurassic World: Dominion‘s reported plans to focus on dinosaurs loose in civilization does have its roots in the franchise’s history.

Cameron Thor is Back?

As filming on Jurassic World: Dominion gets set to resume in London next month, Collider has reported on yet another link to Jurassic Park the new film will have.

Apparently, the third and final film in the Jurassic World trilogy will feature the return of Jurassic Park’s long forgotten villain, Lewis Dodgson.

Actor Cameron Thor originally portrayed the character in Jurassic Park, but Thor is currently serving a six- year prison sentence for sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl. Obviously the character has been recast for Jurassic World: Dominion as a result, and Campbell Scott (The Amazing Spider-Man 2) will now take on the role.
