Madame Web is one of many parts of Sony’s Spider-Man and a new upcoming film for Sony’s adult films again after Morbius left you disappointed. Madame Web is the fifth film from Sony Pictures, which is currently developing a spin-off film that focuses on the villain or supporting character of Spider-Man.
Madame Web stars Dakota Johnson and began filming in early June this year. The production team expects it to be completed in September of the same year, 2022. Unfortunately, this film was delayed until the final release date schedule.
New Madame Web Release Date
The latest news came from Sony Pictures, which postponed the release of the Madame Web spin-off, which was supposed to be released on July 7, 2023, to October 6, 2023. The release schedule for Madame Web was pushed back 3 months from the original schedule. This is confirmed based on this Tweet:
The spin-off of the Spider-Man character began with the release of the film Venom in 2018. With its box office success, Sony then released a sequel to Venom: Let There Be Carnage in 2021. Morbius has also been released in 2022 and will be released soon. followed by Kraven the Hunter, slated for release on January 13, 2023. Sony’s other film projects also include El Muerto and Venom 3.
Dennis O’Neil and John Romita Jr. created Madame Web/Cassandra Webb. The character first appeared in Amazing Spider-Man #210 in 1980. After Cassandra’s death in Amazing Spider-Man #637 in 2010, she was replaced by Julia Carpenter, also known as the second Spider-Woman.
Directed by S.J. Clarkson with a script written by Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless. The film will star Dakota Johnson as Madame Web.
Sydney Sweeney, Celeste O’Connor, Isabela Merced, Tahar Rahim, Emma Roberts, Mike Epps, and Adam Scott will also star in the film, although their roles have not been announced and are still being kept under wraps. Madame Web is scheduled for release in theaters on October 6, 2023
