Ps5 Reveal Date

Sony confirms that the PS5 will finally be shown off in all of its next-gen glory during the first week of June.

Gamers have been chomping at the bit to see anything on the new PlayStation console after the strategy utilized by Microsoft for the Xbox Series X (namely, seemingly-complete transparency on the platform) appeared to have left Sony in the dust.

While fans have received a small glimpse of what to expect from the lineup of games coming to Xbox Series X, Sony has yet to detail the PS5 in such a manner.

The Schedule’s Detail

The PS5 presentation will air online on June 4 at 1:00 pm PST. According to GameIndustry.biz, the showcase will focus on games releasing for the new PlayStation.

While speculation has made Horizon 2 seem like a likely candidate for an appearance, the truth of the matter is that Sony has managed to keep details very well concealed. As a result, there are sure to be a few fantastic surprises for gamers eager to take the plunge into the next generation of gaming.

Could Also Announce The Dual Sense Controller

The above teaser doesn’t do much to set the scene for what fans can expect from the showcase, but it did offer one surprising glimpse.

Namely, the PS5’s DualSense controller appears as if it may be offered in a black option, which, admittedly, looks much sleeker than the PlayStation 5’s partially-white controller that was first shown off in April. It’s entirely possible that this is just the result of the shadows cast across the peripheral, but matte black would make for a nice option for consumers.

It’s certainly an exciting time for fans that have been waiting patiently for more news on the console. Hopefully, the June 4th show doesn’t provide a mixed reaction like Xbox Series X’s gameplay-centric Inside Xbox. So in other words, just wait / stay tune OK?
