How to get a Carved Pumpkin in Minecraft Survival Mode
Find a Pumpkin Plant
First, you need to find a pumpkin plant. Pumpkins are usually found in the Extreme Hills biome or Plains biome. 
Hold your Shears
Hold the shears by selecting them in the hotbar. Position your pointer on the pumpkin.
Carve the Pumpkin
Use the shears on the pumpkin to carve the face into the pumpkin. Once the face has been carved into the pumpkin, 4 pumpkin seeds will be dropped that can be added to your inventory.
Dig up the pumpkin
Now you can dig up the pumpkin. Then pick it up before it disappears. Congratulations, you have made a carved pumpkin in Minecraft!
