For years, Marvel fans have wondered: when will the MCU introduce mutants? Victory returns were teased by Kevin Feige all the way back at San Diego Comic-Con 2019, with avid viewers only getting breadcrumbs for their arrival, as was Charles Xavier’s return to the big screen in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Now it seems the final Ms. Marvel has a key relationship with the X-Men re-introduction.

It’s been made clear that the introduction of mutants was avoided in the Doctor Strange sequel to prevent such a big reveal from shadowing Wanda’s story. Unfortunately, it seems that it will instead overshadow Kamala Khan, played by Iman Vellani, as the season finale of Ms. Marvel reveals that she’s not just a Clandestine.

About Mutant Tease in Ms. Marvel Finale Episode

In the final scene of the season finale, “No Normal,” Bruno Carrelli of Matt Lintz reveals to Kamala that there is “something different in your genes” and calls it a “mutation” as the theme of X-Men: The Animated Series plays out. This twist reveals that Kamala Khan is the first mutant to be properly introduced into the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The series’ chief writer and executive producer, Bisha K. Ali, explained and confirmed how he felt about introducing mutants through Kamala Khan in Ms. Marvel in a new interview.

In an interview with Marvel.com released shortly after the season finale Ms. Marvel, chief writer and executive producer Bisha K. Ali expressed his delight at alluding to mutants for the first time in the mainstream MCU, with Kamala Khan first being introduced. . Ali exclaimed, “Oh my God, the best day of my life!”

However, Ali also revealed that Kamala being a mutant wasn’t always the plan and how, when it comes to Marvel Studios, “things are always a moving part.”

It’s unknown when Mutants will be elaborated on, but the best bet is in The Marvels when it hits theaters on July 28, 2023.
