Hardly a film in recent memory has had an impact to the same degree as Spider-Man: No Way Home, which smashed the box office and internet just as much as 2021 ended.

One of the best-reviewed blockbusters of the century and one of the most successful films ever to hit theaters, No Way Home is a cultural phenomenon where three generations of web-slinger stories come together in one adventure.

The final runtime for No Way Home’s theatrical cut was 148 minutes, making the threequels the fourth-longest run of any MCU film to date, behind Avengers: Infinity War, Avengers: Endgame, and Eternals.

About Extend Cut and Delete Scene

Over the past few months, fans have been learning about deleted scenes that could add even more excitement to the already thrilling three squeals. This includes more material with Charlie Cox’s Daredevil in his first MCU film along with a follow-up version of the Peter Parker vs. Green Goblin when Norman Osborn first arrived, and this seems to be just the tip of the iceberg.

Now, Sony has plans to share more of that unseen material with fans as No Way Home returns to the spotlight once again.

No Way Home Movie Back to Cinema

The official Twitter account @SpiderManMovie announced that Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios will be bringing an extended version of Spider-Man: No Way Home back to theaters.

The announcement was made via video by Tom Holland, Andrew Garfield, and Tobey Maguire, jokingly before confirming that the film will return to theaters in the United States and Canada on Friday, September 2 (early Labor Day weekend). This extended cut is being advertised as a “More Fun Stuff Version” and will include never-before-seen footage from the three MCU sequels, as was rumored in February.

Famous insider Amit Chaudhari shared the names of five deleted scenes that Sony plans to include in this cut, mentioning that the studio “saved this & more to surpass $2 billion” at the box office. This scene will add more than 15 minutes to the 148 minutes of the theatrical cut’s runtime:

Interrogation Scene Extended – 2:25
Peter Day at Midtown High – 5:25
Undercroft Montage – 1:35
Very Good Happy Lawyer – 1:35
The Spideys Hang Out – 4:25

Tickets will be available for this new piece on Tuesday, August 9, just three weeks before The More Fun Stuff Version hits the big screen.

The film will now be nearly 165 minutes long (17-minute extension) with removed scenes that will be added to the plot, expanding on some of the three-quel’s greatest moments in a much shorter theatrical cut.

No matter what the outcome, it appears to be a win-win for everyone involved as Sony can bring No Way Home back to fame and fans can relive the experience in theaters once again. Spider-Man: No Way Home is now available for purchase digitally and via Blu-ray. Threequel will be back in theaters for a re-release on September 9.
