What if Disney Plus shows become one of the things that attract the attention of Marvel audiences, especially those who really like alternative stories. And recently, good things about it were revealed. Through the Marvel panel at SDCC 2022, it was revealed that the Marvel What If Season 2 series will be released in early 2023.
Can’t believe it’s been almost a year since the debut of the Marvel-Disney Plus animated series, What If…? The series premiered on August 11, 2021. And it’s also been 10 months since the series ended on October 6, 2021.
Continuity of What if Series
After almost a year we have not received the latest update about the fate of the second season of this series, now the fate of the series has come. Finally, through the San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC 2022) event a few hours ago, we finally got the update we’ve been waiting for from our favorite animated superhero series.
This is as reported by the upload of photos and official status from the following Marvel Studios Instagram account. It was revealed that the Marvel What If Season 2 series will be released in early 2023.
But unfortunately, Marvel Studios did not provide further details regarding the exact date of the start of 2023. So in other words, yes, we have to wait for the next update that will come.
And the good news also comes here, as reported by Collider reporter Therese Lacson, some of the Marvel characters that appeared in the first season will return. Specifically: Captain Carter, Bucky Barnes, Thanos, and also T’Challa.
Then one of the background stories shown in the second season trailer at the event was in 1602. Well, for those of us who are fans of Marvel comics, you can certainly guess that this setting was inspired by the comic storyline. 1602 by Neil Gaiman (Sand Man).
In the comic series, it is said that Marvel’s iconic superheroes lived in the Roanok colony in 1602. However, it is not yet clear whether any of the Marvel What If Season 2 episodes will 100% adapt the comic plot. Hopefully, these things will satisfy us all.
