Will Chris Evans and Robert Downey Jr. Return in Avengers: Secret Wars?

The MCU is still continuing with the next pick saga which is also going to be big. As the MCU builds towards the pinnacle of its next saga with the events of Avengers: Secret Wars, many are eager to see the classic heroes return through the Multiverse.

With talk of the Multiverse continuing to heat up, rumors are starting to spread that the Iron Man and Captain America actors might be returning to the MCU. Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness already offers a taste of this potential with Professor X Patrick Stewart, but fans remain desperate to see the two MCU veterans return to action.

The talk of Evans and Downey Jr. remains a matter of speculation for now, especially with Anthony Mackie’s Sam Wilson as MCU’s Captain America.

Could Chris Evans Be Back in Avengers: Secret Wars?

Even with Chris Evans’ openness to reprising his MCU role, the actor seems eager to be careful with how Captain America’s comeback will be handled. As we all know, the next Captain America movie will only tell a different story.

So when it comes to returning to Earth-616’s Rogers, Evans seems worth it to find the right reasons to make it happen apart from the usual fan service. But how does Evans feel about returning through the Multiverse?

Although Evans doesn’t seem interested in fan service, he has shared his interest in returning as Johnny Storm from the Fantastic Four, aka Human Torch, via the Multiverse.

With Secret Wars being a Multiverse crossover, there are a number of unique Captain America Variants that Evans can play with and maybe even fight against his former teammates. Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige can no doubt find a meaningful way to make this work.

While Chris Evans told fans he was retiring as Captain America, Iron Man’s Robert Downey Jr. met his end in Avengers: Endgame, ending a decade-long MCU run. Despite reaching the end of his heroic journey when Downey Jr. moved on to another project, fans are still begging him to return to the MCU.

This one is very expensive to reappear, but going forward in Avengers 5 or 6, at least making a cameo really makes fans satisfied. The greatest potential for him is to use the Multiverse to deliver the variant.
