After the death of her synthezoid lover, Vision, in Avengers: Infinity War, WandaVision sees Avenger use the brainwashing magic of the city of Westview to create the suburban family lifestyle of her dreams with her husband and two children. Unfortunately, Kathryn Hahn’s Agatha Harkness comes to ruin her fun by trying to steal her magical abilities using Darkhold, an ancient book about dark magic.
Will Wanda Return to the MCU?
In the series, Wanda is able to defeat Agatha, assume her mythical identity as the Red Witch, and isolate herself from the world to study Darkhold. After years of studying the book, Multiverse of Madness features an even more powerful Wanda – now corrupted by Darkhold – trying to go after America Chavez to steal her Multiverse travel powers in hopes of moving to a universe where she has children.
Wanda doesn’t want to stop in hopes of achieving her goal, constructing surprising death contraptions along the way and completing her transformation into a Marvel villain. By the end of the film, the Red Witch has seen her way wrong and appears to sacrifice herself atop Mount Wundagore to destroy Darkhold. But with a character as popular as Wanda, chances are she won’t be dead for too long, so when will she return?
Despite Scarlet Witch’s sacrifice to destroy Darkhold at the end of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, it’s hard to imagine a character as popular as Wanda staying dead for very long. Whether with a revival, Variant Multiverse, or a surprising revelation about her survival, Elizabeth Olsen will no doubt be returning to the MCU. But when and where? That’s a much more difficult question.
Agatha: House of Harkness, WandaVision Season 2 if it does come true, Scarlet Witch Solo Movie, Young Avengers and also potentially appearing in Avengers 5 or 6.
