Sony Spider Verse 2 Animation Variants Revealed

Sony Pictures is continuing their upcoming film projects, while live-action projects fail, the Spider-Man animated franchise still has great potential to continue. Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse will be a direct sequel to Sony’s successful 2018 animated film Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.

Based on a promotional video or first teaser release, Across the Spider-Verse will see the return of Miles Morales (Shameik Moore), Gwen Stacey/Spider-Gwen (Hailee Steinfeld), and newcomer Spider-Man 2099 (Oscar Isaac).

Other Spider-Man Variants Revealed

As we know, the Spider-verse is able to introduce many variants of Spider-Man. The Spot, voiced by Jason Schwartzman, will be the main antagonist in Across the Spider-Verse. While the film is set to be released next year on June 2, more characters continue to be revealed.

A new image has surfaced on Twitter of a toy for Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse featuring Spider-Punk. In the comics, Spider-Punk aka Hobie Brown hails from Earth-138 and often uses an electric guitar, along with his web shooter.

The first toy is described as a “Spider-Punk Web Blast” which appears to combine Spider-Punk gear into one. He is shown shredding a guitar while also swinging from building to building:

You can see several variants of Spider-Man as a new character will arrive in the sequel based on the leaked images, based on the toys.

The second photo shows a more traditional Spider-Man mask, but this time it features Spider-Punk’s horns protruding from above. Regardless, Sony was able to get plenty of Spider-Man out there, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse hitting theaters on June 2, 2023.
