A lead is a handy tool that can be used as a leash. Also, you can tie the mob to a fence and make them don’t move or running away. Additionally, villagers, wandering traders, and hostile mobs other than hoglins and zoglins can be leashed using a map or NBT editor.

Whenever a lead is removed or damaged, it falls as an item at the mob location. However, it does not fall when released in Creative mode. ‌ A lead does not break if the animal it is attached to dies.

  1. Open the Crafting Menu

    The same as making any other items, you need to open the Crafting Menu, then you’ll see the 3×3 grids.

  2. Add Ingredients

    Like we said before, you need 4 Strings and 1 Slimeball to make a Lead. You must follow the exact pattern of the item recipe, so be careful.

    In the first row, you can fill the box with 2 Strings at the first and second boxes. Then, put 1 String to the first box and 1 Slimeball in the second box in the second row. Last, you need to put again 1 String to the third box in the third row. Check the following image for more!
